Nearly 400 people showed up solely by word of mouth when we held our first worship service in Ouanaminthe on January 19, 2020. You could definitely feel God's presence and the excitement of the young people! The photo above is from that “launch” service. While this gathering may not seem "special" to those of us in the U.S., there are two BIG things to notice here: 1) the majority of the crowd is under 25 years old, and 2) many of them are wearing t-shirts, shorts and hats! Both are extremely RARE sights at church in Haiti and the response was awesome!

 

We are now meeting every Sunday in a temporary (1-3 years) church building. We are able to use this space for Sunday worship service, weekly prayer meetings, leadership training, sports activities, and more. We own about one acre of land where the temporary church building is, and we are praying for wisdom and direction from the Lord to determine next steps.
